BOUDREAUX'S BUTT PASTE REUNITES WITH CLEMENTS
FOR DAYTONA
SPARTANBURG, SC (February 5, 2008) - Jeremy Clements just celebrated
a birthday but is holding on to his wish for a trip to victory lane
during Saturday's ARCA RE/MAX Series' "ARCA 200" at the famed Daytona
International Speedway. Clements, 23, earned his first ARS win last
summer at Nashville Superspeedway and also notched a podium finish
at the 2007 Daytona season opener. Returning once again with his race-proven,
family-owned #3 Chevy Monte Carlo, the South Carolina native is looking
to improve on last year's standing.
"Tracks like Daytona and Talladega have so much history and uniqueness
to the track that it is simply an honor to race here so every trip
is special," Clements commented when asked about his preparation for
the racing kick-off. "Our team put in a lot of effort in the off-season
and I feel like we will be pretty good in race trim. We just have
to be patient and see how luck holds up and situations unfold. I have
been fortunate enough to get more track time than usual thanks to
Joe Gibbs Racing and the opportunity to test the #18 Toyota Camry
that Kyle Busch usually pilots in the NASCAR Nationwide Series."
Clements' on track performance will not be the only familiar constant
for the "ARCA 200". Blairex Laboratories' Boudreaux's Butt Paste has
returned as primary sponsor on the #3 for the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series'
launch. The honest simplicity of the "Boudreaux's Butt Paste" name
may produce a chuckle but the skin cream has earned a lot of notoriety
because of the humorous moniker and garnered a strong following because
of the product's therapeutic relief.
Pharmacist George Boudreaux whipped up the soothing ointment in his
Louisiana drugstore in the 1970s. The miracle cream gained popularity
in town not only for the wonders it worked on baby's bums but also
minor burns, insect bites and other skin ailments and Butt Paste's
popularity soared as word spread. But it is 23 year-old ARCA RE/MAX
Series standout Jeremy Clements that hopes the soothing properties
of Boudreaux's Butt Paste will ease his itch for victory at this weekend's
"ARCA 200" hosted at the historic Daytona International Speedway.
When asked about once again carrying the humorous moniker of "Butt
Paste" on his hot rod, Clements noted with a smile, "It will definitely
get your attention, won't it? Smart marketing because everyone remembers
that name. I just want to thank George (Boudreaux), Boudreaux's Butt
Paste and the whole Blairex organization for extending our relationship.
They have really done a lot for me and I hope to put the Boudreaux's
Butt Paste Chevy up front and give them the best possible finish."
Looking forward to reuniting with Jeremy Clements and the #3 Chevy
team, Butt Paste founder George Boudreaux added, "We sponsored the
#3 car for the Talladega race last fall and Jeremy did a great job.
We are once again looking forward to being on board with Jeremy and
the entire #3 Clements crew again and we are very confident in Jeremy's
abilities."
Clements and his family-owned #3 Chevy team carry support from Boudreaux's
Butt Paste, One-Stop Convenience Stores and The Saxon Group for this
weekend's 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series' opener. SIM Factory Pole Qualifying
is scheduled for 12:00 noon EDT on Friday, February 8, 2008. The green
flag will drop for the "ARCA 200" on Saturday, February 9th, just
after 4:00pm EDT and the cameras will be on-hand to broadcast all
of the action live via SPEED.
